Every Wednesday we take you beyond the Toronto Raptors, around the NBA. This week’s highlights include a Washington Wizards fire sale, Markelle Fultz drama, and more.
The Toronto Raptors are 1-3 during the past four games, with the sole win coming at the hands of the Chicago Bulls, but what’s been happening around the rest of the NBA? We take a look in our weekly NBA update.
Washington Wizards fire sale
After an incredibly ugly start (despite a nice win last night), the Washington Wizards are in full-scale fire sale mode. According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards are listening to offers on everybody.
The Wizards are a dumpster fire. Nothing describes the Wizards dysfunction better than Candace Buckner’s thread of tweets, where she discovers mid-thread that multiple of the arguments she is reporting happened on the same practice.
The Wizards hate each other and something needs to give.

Markelle Fultz struggling again
Whenever lawyers are involved in an NBA situation, it’s typically not a good sign. On Tuesday, it was announced that Markelle Fultz would not be practicing or playing for the 76ers until he had consulted with his own, personal medical staff.
Head Coach Brett Brown and General Manager Elton Brand don’t seem to agree that this is a medical issue.
I don’t have Fultz’s medical information so I cannot say anything definitively. However, I believe it’s reasonable to question the validity of any injury at this point in time.

Kemba Walker going nuclear
Over the past six games, Kemba Walker is absolutely destroying opponents. The veteran guard from Uconn is averaging 32 points per game over his last six and has dropped 43 and 60 in his last two games.
The Hornets are a subpar team with a somewhat grim future. Having Kemba Walker single-handedly make the franchise relevant is a nice story.
