Giannis Antetokounmpo led a fourth-quarter rally as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the San Antonio Spurs 135-129 in a Saturday night NBA thriller.
The Bucks were facing a second-successive home defeat when they trailed the Spurs by 11 points in the fourth quarter, but Antetokounmpo scored 14 points in the final period and was serenaded by chants of "MVP, MVP" by the Bucks' faithful.
Antetokounmpo finished the game with 34 points, 18 rebounds and eight rebounds, hitting 16 of 20 free throws as the Spurs targeted him in the closing minutes.
Three more Milwaukee players - Malcolm Brogdon, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe - contributed at least 20 points as the Bucks improved their record to 14-5.
San Antonio now find themselves one game below .500 despite another stellar performance from DeMar DeRozan, who matched Antetokounmpo's game-high 34 points.
DeRozan shone in the third period as the Spurs added to their lead, which continued to increase early in the fourth until Antetokounmpo took over and led the Bucks to 40 points in the last 12 minutes.
"I was feeling relaxed," said Antetokounmpo. "I had a little bit of energy saved up for the fourth quarter."
After Antetokounmpo put the Bucks in front with just over two minutes remaining, it was a drive to the hoop from Bledsoe and a smooth three from Brogdon - assisted by Bledsoe - that iced the game.
"If I'm going to have the ball at the end of the game in situations like that, I've got to be able to know when to score and when to pass," Bledsoe added.
"Malcolm did a great job being in the right spot, and knocked it down."
