The Chicago Bulls looked to end the week on a positive note when they traveled to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves. However, Minnesota took control in the last quarter of play and defeating them, 111-96.
Going into this game, Chicago Bulls guard, Zach LaVine had this date (November 24th) circled on his calendar as it was not only the first of two meetings between these teams this year, but also a game where he wanted to prove to his former team once again to why they made the wrong choice when they traded him to Chicago.
Zach didn’t disappoint as he scored 28 points on 9-of-17 shooting and adding 8 rebounds to go along with 4 assists.
Early on into the game, the Bulls looked solid as they shot 40% from the field after the 1st quarter. Jabari Parker led the charge heading into halftime with 13 points.
Going into the second half of play, Parker kept his scoring pace up putting up 13 more points in the 3rd quarter alone. He was the second leading scorer for the Bulls finishing one point behind Zach LaVine with 27. In addition, Justin Holiday posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The fourth quarter was the turning point for both teams as the Chicago Bulls were outscored 27-17. The Bulls didn’t score their first two points until the first 5:11 of the 4th quarter and didn’t crack double-digits until 2:58 were left to play.
The Bulls were able to foul out Karl-Anthony Towns, but not before he put up an outstanding stat line of: 35 points, 22 rebounds, and 6 assists. Derrick Rose continues to have a great season and is up for sixth-man of the year honors if he keeps this pace up. He haunted his former team with 22 points and 4 assists.
The Chicago Bulls have a four game slate next week with the San Antonio Spurs coming to the United Center on Monday before going on the road for 3 games. They will look to grab their sixth win of the season.
