The Indiana Pacers announced that Victor Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis, and Myles Turner are all ruled questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Utah Jazz.
Injury report for tomorrow’s game at Utah.
Victor Oladipo: Questionable (sore right knee)
Domantas Sabonis: Questionable (sprained right ankle)
Myles Turner: Questionable (sore left ankle)— Indiana Pacers (@Pacers) November 26, 2018
The status update about Oladipo is surprising because recently Nate McMillan made it sound like his absence could extend into the team’s road trip.
In fact, McMillan told Scott Agness of The Athletic that Oladipo’s activities have been ‘shooting mainly’ and that he has been ‘doing a little running on the treadmill’ but hasn’t practiced in about a week.
“He’s shooting mainly and doing a little running on the treadmill, but nothing with the team. He’s experiencing a situation where he can’t (go). He wants to and things are feeling better but he’s smart (about it) and he listens to the trainer. He just can’t go.”
It sounds likely that Turner’s return to the lineup could come on Monday. He told the IndyStar that he believes that he probably shouldn’t have played against the Charlotte Hornets and his ankle ‘swelled up a little bit’ after that game, but he plans to play.
“There’s not much more I can do but rest it. It swelled up a little bit after the Charlotte game. I probably shouldn’t have played but it was my call. I don’t regret it or anything. I should’ve given myself a chance to rest and be out there for this road trip. I plan to play.”
Sabonis played through a sprained ankle during the team’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs but his status is still in question for Monday. It is rare that he misses games but it’s worth monitoring.
