First We Feast, the food, drink and pop culture blog, has a YouTube show called "Hot Ones." It has become a new-age version of the late night talk show circuit, where big names, usually promoting a movie release or something like that, sit and talk and then eat progressively spicier wings.

The latest video dropped on Friday and featured Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin.

Sure, it's a bit of schadenfreude, watching a celebrity buckle under the intense pressure of ridiculously spicy chicken. But it also offers a long-form video interview with a guy who has re-emerged as an NBA star, and done so while wearing the Pistons red, white and blue.

Griffin and host Sean Evans discussed the 6-foot-8 forward's comedy exploits and how he has transitioned his game to one that's almost perimeter-oriented.

There were also the mundane - Kevin Garnett is a All-Star trash-talker - the innocuous - Griffin moving his dog to Michigan - and the perfunctory - Griffin doesn't worry much about analytics.

But the main event were the wings.

Griffin started feeling it with the wings doused in Small Axe Peppers Habanero Mango sauce, which registers at 22,500 Scoville level (for context, a Jalpeno pepper is at 10,000).

Warning: video contains language some may find offensive.

Next was Los Calientes, at 36,000 Scoville (fast forward to about 8:45 in the video).

Griffin's first taste was followed by a couple of headnods and a cough. "Nice."

After explaining his mind-set on a few icons dunks, he went up to a sauce that registered at 55,000 Scoville.

And then, Culley's Fire Water, at 112,000.

"Yeah, here it comes," he said after his first bite. "There we go. My nose is sweating."

And then, in the middle of answering a question about watching reporters work - "Yeah, that's hot. That's a good one."

Next up, Da Bomb, Beyond Insanity, at 112,600.

"Oh yeah, you can taste the hotness, right away," Griffin said.

A few seconds later, the bomb apparently landed.

Evans, conducting the interview as if there isn't a five-alarm fire in Griffin's mouth, asked his next question. Griffin was more than frazzled.

"I'm sorry," Griffin said with a giggle and sweat gathering on his brow.

"Can you see the sweat? Or am I crying," he asked. "I think I'm crying actually. Are my ears bleeding?"

And with that, they moved on to Exhorresco, up at 625,000 Scoville (is that even safe?).

But like an elite athlete would, Griffin was up for the challenge.

Two quick bites, then another ask on his ears - still not bleeding - then some more questions about his childhood home of Oklahoma City.

And as he wiped his face with a clean towel, Evans geared up for the finale, The Last Dab, at 2,000,000-plus Scoville.

And, because it's the Thanksgiving episode, they applied the sauce to a turkey leg.

So, what was Griffin thankful for?

"The milk right there," he said.
