Denver Nuggets and the Washington Wizards.
Denver Nuggets Should Test the Waters
The Denver Nuggets are a team full of talent. More so than most teams in the NBA. Naturally, when a trade opportunity opens up elsewhere, the initial reaction is to shrug it off. However, in the NBA, competition is the name of the game. The right piece, can increase team productivity in ways previously unforeseen. With the best example of this being the Indiana Pacers trading Paul George for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.
At face value, many wondered whether the Indiana Pacers got robbed. In reality, the new Pacers helped bring a vibrancy to the Indiana Pacers, that remains to this day.
Similarly, Tyson Chandler was assumed to be a has-been when rumors broke of his move to the Lakers. Now, Tyson Chandler has been a big part of the Lakers playing winning basketball. The point here is that every NBA front office should take everything seriously. Firstly, as we’ve seen above, some opportunities are less obvious than others. Our initial gut reaction can be wrong because it’s hard to keep up with all the changes happening in the NBA.
Secondly, by taking everything seriously a front office builds up experience and expertise in identifying true value. Lastly, this approach has the effect of ensuring that relationships are built and lines of communications are opened. So that if the time ever comes where a trade is wanted, it can be executed in a manner that is efficient.
For the above reasons, whether the Denver Nuggets want to make a trade with the Washington Wizards or not. They should still do their research and contact the Wizards as a part of their due diligence.

So far this season, the Denver Nuggets have struggled with turnovers, inconsistent 3 point shooting, defensive flexibility and getting to the free throw line.
