Jordan Bell was one of the brightest young players on the Golden State Warriors last season, but where has he been this year?
Coming into the 2018-19 NBA season, many people, including myself, thought that Jordan Bell would become a crucial piece to the Golden State Warriors. After a little over a month of relatively no impact, it’s time to figure out what is going on with Bell.
The second-year player made noise last year as a versatile big man who could defend and run the floor well. Last season, Jordan averaged 9.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for a seven-game stretch in which he started each contest.
As a result, Bell began to draw comparisons to another Golden State Warriors player, Draymond Green. Bell and Green share a similar body type and skill set. The only difference being, Bell is a superior athlete while Green is a much smarter player.
However, there was real potential for Bell to turn into a basketball mastermind, just like his teammate, Draymond Green. Personally, I thought we would see Bell make a noticeable jump in his game this season. Sadly, that has not been the case thus far.
I assumed that a full year playing under head coach Steve Kerr and being mentored by All-Star players would do wonders for Bell. In my opinion, he should have been a sponge and soaked in a bunch of new talent. Today, we explain why Jordan Bell has not been playing up to par.
