On Monday night, the Bruins are in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs at 7 p.m., while the Celtics are in New Orleans to take on the Pelicans at 8 p.m.
Danny Ainge gave his thoughts on the Celtics’ early season mediocrity: Ten games into the season, the Celtics are not where most experts predicted the team would be. At 10-10, Boston has been the definition of up and down. For Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, it’s still too early for any major changes.
“I’ve been through this many, many years, and I’m not impatient,” Ainge told Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. “I feel like obviously I know the frustrations our players have felt and the ups and downs that we’ve had through this season so far. But I think that we all know we should be doing more and doing better and are capable of it. That’s pretty much all I’ll say about it.”
Ainge elaborated, explaining that he’s “open” to making moves, but that it’s complicated.
“You know me. I’m always open to doing something,” Ainge said. “But that doesn’t mean I think we have to go and get something done right now. And it’s not that simple anyway. But patience wins out more often than not – more than panic. It has to. I know panic is a bad way to react, so I will remain patient and allow our players to find their form. With some teams, it takes time, and some teams get it quicker. But I like a lot of things I see in our team this season, and I’m not going to be impatient.”

No style points, but a road win for the Patriots: Though it wasn’t the most satisfying of wins for the Patriots, it was a win nonetheless. And based on the reaction from New England coaches and players, the result was the only thing that mattered. Well that, plus a healthy emphasis on improvement. [The Boston Globe]
