The Golden State Warriors shocked the NBA world when they signed DeMarcus Cousins over the summer. And now, the team is almost ready to reap their rewards.
Cousins, who has been sidelined with a torn Achilles since January, is nearly ready to return to the basketball court. In fact, he’s so close that he was reportedly optimistic that he could debut during the team’s five-game road trip that begins on Thursday. But the team is in no rush, so his return to the court will hopefully come in late December, when everyone can be confident that he’s fully up to speed.
The report, which comes from Logan Murdock of the Mercury News, states that head trainer Rick Celebrini, in addition to the rest of the training staff, determined on Friday that Cousins’ debut would come after Christmas. It states that, despite Cousins’ hopes that he would return in the next few weeks, there were no setbacks, and the team merely wants him in ideal physical form before unleashing him.
Cousins is set to be re-evaluated soon. We’ll let you know as soon as there’s more injury information.
