For the third time this season, Phoenix Suns guard De’Anthony Melton will be joining the NAZ Suns.
Melton is headed to the G League on Tuesday ahead of the team’s game in Prescott Valley against the Memphis Hustle.
Fellow rookie Elie Okobo and Melton were both on the roster since Nov. 17 but neither would be a part of the rotation.
With the Suns’ recent starting lineup change, Isaiah Canaan has formed the bench’s backcourt with veteran Jamal Crawford. On the Suns’ recent four-game road trip, Canaan shot 2-of-17 from the field.
Melton was last recalled to the Suns on Nov. 10. He played 20 minutes total across two games on Nov. 14 and Nov. 17, but has not appeared in a game since. On the season, Melton has three appearances in the rotation and 42 total minutes.
Okobo, meanwhile, played in nine straight games from Oct. 27 to Nov. 12 before not appearing in the Suns’ last six contests.
