Seth Curry Probable for Tonight's Game

After missing the past three games, Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry has been upgraded to probable for tonight’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry has sat out of the past three games with a knee injury. Curry banged his knee in the Blazers loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last Wednesday. The MRI can back negative and no structural issues were found. He has been listed as day-to-day for the past week. However, Curry’s status has been upgraded to probable for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers’ official site first broke the news earlier today:

The Milwaukee Bucks are certainly a formidable opponent. They are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference and are tied with the Trail Blazers for eighth in the NBA in three-point percentage. Both teams like to rely on the three-ball, so the Blazers could definitely use Curry’s outside shooting tonight.

Curry has gone 16-32 from deep to start the season; he is a career 43.7% three-point shooter, as well. Curry can hit catch and shoot threes and threes off of the dribble.

Although he is an expert from three-point range, Curry has struggled offensively inside of the arc this season. He is shooting only 26.7% on two-pointers.

Even though Curry is listed as the team’s backup point guard on the depth, Evan Turner primarily handles the playmaking duties for the second unit. Curry is only averaging 0.9 assists per game and is essentially a shooting guard on offense.

If Curry does play tonight, I expect him to still be limited and not receive major minutes. If he sits out, Nik Stauskas and Anfernee Simons should continue to see extra minutes. Gary Trent Jr could get playing time if the game gets out of hand.
