Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City Thunder returns after 6 games out

Russell Westbrook made his return Monday against the Sacramento Kings after missing the past six games.

Westbrook had sprained his left ankle in the second half on Nov. 5 against the New Orleans Pelicans. He was upgraded to questionable on Monday afternoon following shootaround and after responding well. He then made the decision to play.

Westbrook returned to full contact practice on Friday and appeared set to return against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, but left following shootaround to fly to Los Angeles for the births of his twin daughters later that night.

He rejoined the team in Sacramento on Monday morning.

The Thunder have won 10 of their past 11 games, including five of six in the recent stretch, without Westbrook.
