Rockets working to sign former Aggies, Cougars star Danuel House

Published

WASHINGTON – Amid injury concerns heading into their game on Monday, the Rockets will make a House call-up.

The Rockets are working to sign Vipers forward Danuel House on Monday, a person with knowledge of the deal said on Monday.

With guards Chris Paul (sore left leg) and Gerald Green (sore right ankle) questionable to play Monday against the Wizards, the Rockets wanted to have another healthy option on the bench, but forward Vincent Edwards has been hurt with the Vipers and not expected to return until later in the week, making him unavailable for a call-up in his two-way deal.

The Athletic initially reported the Rockets working on a deal with House.

House is averaging 17.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in 15 games with the Vipers. He averaged 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in five games with the Rockets summer league team and signed a training camp deal with the Warriors, but did not make the team.

House, a former University of Houston and Texas A&M player, averaged 6.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game with the Suns last season. House also played at Fort Bend Hightower High School.
