There aren’t too many Chicago Bulls rumors going around lately, but what would it take to land Anthony Davis, who is open to a trade?
It seems as though there have been more and more NBA trade rumors early on this season than in seasons’ past. The Chicago Bulls aren’t necessarily one of the teams involved in the big ones, but Gar Forman and John Paxson should absolutely be keeping an open mind.
When it comes to the latest rumors, one of the league’s biggest and brightest stars could be on the move.
New Orleans Pelicans big man and Chicago native, Anthony Davis, is apparently now open to the idea of being traded. However, Davis is only excited about going to one of a few teams. Longtime NBA insider and reporter, Chris Sheridan, recently shared a story he had written prior to the season.
He was reiterating the fact that it is more likely than not that Davis gets traded this season if the Pelicans aren’t contending. In his piece, he wrote:
“A source with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the NBA told Get More Sports that Davis is considering five teams in the near and distant future: The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.”
Whether it is via trade or a long-term contract when his current deal expires in 2020, Davis has narrowed it to five teams.
But, what if the Bulls could make an interesting offer? Better yet, what if the Bulls not only make an interesting offer, but are able to convince Davis to stay in Chicago?
Think about this: Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Davis at your core. The possibilities of adding to it are quite intriguing. What would it take? Let’s see if we can put together a deal sweet enough for the Pelicans.
