Potential trade packages for Terry Rozier

With NBA trade rumors floating around, the Chicago Bulls should consider buying. One player reportedly on the block is Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier.

So far this season, the Chicago Bulls have seen player after player drop due to injury. That doesn’t necessarily excuse their poor play up to this point, but it certainly doesn’t help their cause. Some have wondered whether or not they will once again “tank” away the season, like they were accused of doing a year ago.

I definitely wouldn’t blame them for trying, that’s for sure. They simply aren’t a competitive group with the guys they have healthy right now. When Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis return, that will change a bit. But, for now, they must live with the current situation.

Zach LaVine can’t do it all on his own, but he sure is trying. It would benefit him and the team greatly to have one more guy who could help both score and facilitate, and that could come in the form of a trade.

Recently, there has been speculation as to whether or not the underperforming Boston Celtics will trade guard Terry Rozier. His situation doesn’t see him get nearly as many minutes as he would like, and some think he is unhappy.

Whether that is true or not, Rozier’s contract is up next summer and he could choose to sign with whomever he wants. He’ll certainly get offered more than his qualifying offer, but we’ll get to that a bit later.

If the Bulls chose to make a move for Rozier, it would give them the ultimate depth and some options in the back court. Not only would they have LaVine and Dunn, but Rozier would give them a phenomenal three-man rotation which could see the floor at the same time quite often.

What would it take to get Rozier, though? If the Celtics are inevitably going to lose him next year, it’s going to be tougher to trade him. Depending on what other teams are willing to offer, here are two scenarios that make sense in order to bring Rozier to Chicago.
