Kevin Durant sings the praises of a young Sacramento Kings team

Following the Warriors 117-116 battle with the Sacramento Kings, Kevin Durant had quite a few incredibly nice things to say about the makeup of the roster and their future potential.

“If you hand the ball over to De’Aaron Fox, he will change your franchise. That is the type of player he is, no-nonsense, come to work type of player, and he’s going to play for his teammates. He didn’t shoot the ball well tonight, but you can tell he dictates the pace. When you have him at point guard, he can change your team. And then you have Buddy Hield who’s scoring at a nice rate right now. They have the two bigs off the bench — they have a nice team, I think they’re just young right now, but they’re going to be really good in the future.”

Durant needed 44 points to help push the Warriors over the top in the meeting, but he’s not wrong. After an up-and-down rookie season, things seem to be slowing down for Fox and Hield seems like a perfect backcourt mate alongside him.

The team may kick themselves over passing on Luka Doncic over the next decade, but the team is developing nicely with youth at the forefront of everything they’re trying to accomplish. Following the loss the Kings still have one of the eight best records in the Western Conference and, if they continue to play well, could fight for a playoff spot toward the end of the season — something no one expected out of this team.
