Former Coyote signed to OKC G League team | Sports

The NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder front office has added former Weatherford College basketball player Anthony Roberson to its minor league team, the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League. Roberson is believed to be the first former Coyote to play in the league.

Roberson scored two points in his G League debut against Iowa Friday and then scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting against the Memphis Hustle on Sunday.

The 6-foot-5-inch guard from San Antonio played two years for Mark Osina’s Coyotes, earning All-Region honors in 2014-15. He transferred to Texas State, and then finished his career at the University of Central Oklahoma last season. He averaged 7.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game his senior year at UCO.

Anthony’s brother, Andre, is a starter for the Thunder and is in his fifth NBA season.
