Derrick Rose is making a return to the ankle-breaking business. Unfortunately for Chicago Bulls guard Shaquille Harrison, Rose chose him to be his first victim. Late in the third quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ game against Rose’s former team, the 2011 NBA MVP broke out a behind-the-back dribble that made the undrafted prospect out of Tulsa stumble off his feet.

Harrison tried his best to contain Derrick Rose and really took it to him on defense. Rose seemed to struggle at first but eventually backed off to size up his defender. It looked like Rose had enough of what was going on and just took the 25-year-old to school.
However, Rose wasn’t able to finish with a basket, which would have made the play much sweeter to watch. He passed the ball to Andrew Wiggins on the wing who then shot an airball from 3-point distance. Fortunately for Minnesota, Dario Saric was able to salvage the possession with a putback under the rim.
Derrick Rose is having himself a career renaissance with Minnesota. After several years of recovering from knee issues, the former first overall pick in 2008 is looking healthy and ready to prove that he still belongs in the NBA. While he no longer looks like the player who became the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011, Rose has found a way to reinvigorate his career in his 10th NBA season, serving as the Sixth Man for this young Timberwolves squad.
The Timberwolves won against the Bulls, 111-96, and improved to 9-11 on the season. Rose finished with a tally of 22 points on 9-of-13 from the field while adding two rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes off the bench.
