Cleveland Cavaliers Could Get Two Future NBA Stars And Create A Powerful Franchise – NBA News Rumors Trades Stats Free Agency

Fadeaway World

The Cleveland Cavaliers are tanking. They recently just parted ways with JR Smith because he came out and said so. They just lost the best player in the world and now have no other hope than to try and lose as many games as possible.

No team will admit they’re tanking because they would be fined by the league. The NBA wants every team to try and win as much as possible to keep the league competitive. If teams tanked then fans wouldn’t turn up to games which means less money for the league.

Nick Young suggested that teams should tank and get both stars in the future.

The Cavs currently have a great chance to get the number 1 pick in this year’s draft and if they were to acquire it they could draft Zion Williamson from Duke. He has huge potential given how strong and athletic he is, but he is likely to struggle in his first year due to a lack of a jump-shot.

The Cavs will likely be bad in his rookie season as well, and that’s a good thing. Teams usually want to tank for at least 2-3 seasons so they can acquire lots of young talent and let it grow. The Cavs could do this in the 2019-2020 season and try and get LaMelo Ball who will probably have declared himself for the NBA draft in the summer of 2020.

If the stars align then we could see both Zion and LaMelo on the same team in the NBA in a few years time. That would surely be entertaining to watch. I can see it now; LaMelo pulls up from half court pointing to his defender in the process, misses the shot but Zion comes crashing in for the offensive rebound, breaking the rim and bringing down the shot clock

Let’s all pray to the basketball Gods that this is al allowed to happen.
