Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Friday the team is expecting an update on the status of injured forwards Chandler Parsons and JaMychal Green in "probably another week."

“That’s when we’ll get an update on where they are and the expectations of when they’ll be able to play for us," Bickerstaff said.

The Grizzlies (6-4) host Philadelphia on Saturday night at FedExForum.

It will be their eighth straight game without Parsons, who went to great lengths over the offseason to address lingering knee issues that have marred his time in Memphis.

“He’s obviously frustrated," Bickerstaff said. "A guy that was able to have the summer he had, the way he competed in training camp to earn a starting position and then this happens and it’s a setback."

Parsons left the team's third game of the season with knee soreness. Green suffered a broken jaw in the second game of the season.

With the two forwards out, foul trouble forced Memphis to use small forward Kyle Anderson at center for a stretch of Wednesday night's 89-87 win over the Nuggets.

Green has returned to the practice floor in a limited capacity, according to Bickerstaff. The team is taking a more cautious approach with Parsons, who is in the third year of a four-year contract.

Parsons flew to Germany this offseason for a five-day injection process in both knees, and the early results were encouraging.

The 6-foot-10 Parsons earned a starting role to begin the season, only to leave with a knee issue after less than seven minutes of action in the team's third game.

Bickerstaff said Parsons has been around the team, "here every day working." Parsons participated Thursday in the team's community event at Hawkins Mill Elementary.

"He’s been a good teammate, trying to help the guys when he can," Bickerstaff said. "We could have rushed him back with the risk of this happening again. But we decided to take our time so that when he did come back, he could come back for a long period of time and he wouldn’t be bouncing back and forth."

An October report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski suggested Green would miss 4-6 weeks after taking an elbow to the face in the Grizzlies' season-opening win over the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 19.

Friday marked three weeks since Green's injury.
