Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown told reporters after Saturday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks that he couldn't remember exactly how his scary fall in the fourth quarter happened.
"I can't remember," Brown said, when asked by reporters about the moment after the game. "I just know I fell and hit my back. The X-rays were negative, so that was good."
Brown appeared to get his legs tangled up trying to contest a layup by Maxi Kleiber, and he was unable to catch himself as he came crashing back to floor. Brown landed hard on his tailbone.

Good news, good news and bad news for the Celtics.
The first piece of good news is the X-rays -- Brown's offense has started coming around a bit since he began attacking the hoop more and more frequently, and the Celtics could really use additional offense from someone (anyone, frankly).
The second piece of good news: While Brown said he didn't remember the play, the second angle in the replay above shows pretty clearly that his head didn't hit the floor, so any lack of memory probably shouldn't spark questions about a concussion. Brown had an even more terrifying fall in Minnesota last year that did result in a concussion (and it could have been even worse).
The bad news: Those tailbone injuries can linger, particularly in the day or two after a fall. If Brown misses a game, or if he's limited for a little while, it wouldn't be an enormous surprise.
