Andre Roberson is still rehabbing and recovering from offseason left knee surgery. He has been a non-participant in practices from the start of the season, mostly resigned to solo running and shooting off to the side.
However, his rehabilitation is starting to pick up some pace as he has been able to participate in non-contact portions of practice, mostly in some ‘scripting’ work as head coach Billy Donovan mentioned on Monday.
“Andre continues to get better,” Donovan said. “He’s worked hard and we’re able to use him in some scripting, 5-on-0, with the team where he can run around a little bit. In terms of the contact and any of that stuff, he’s not ready for that yet.”
This line of questioning comes after footage of Roberson was taken at practice Monday of him running through non-contact drills with his Thunder teammates.
Roberson is set to be re-evaluated in early December as it was reported in October that there was a setback in his recovery and that two extra months of rehabilitation were needed.
The Thunder will progress without Roberson in the lineup and try to stay in the Western Conference playoff hunt. The Thunder are currently 12-7 and in fifth place in the competitive West.
