Baker Mayfield receives ovation at Cavaliers game

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield led his team to a 35-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. The three time NFL Rookie of the Week winner completed 19-of-26 passes for 258 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. Mayfield took some time to get away from team headquarters and - probably the barrage of angry ESPN reporters targeting him over the last 24 hours - to take in a Cleveland Cavaliers game.

The Cavaliers showed Sunday's score on the jumbotron and then Mayfield, which drew a loud ovation from the fans in attendance.

Mayfield set a Browns rookie passing record with four touchdowns Sunday. It is the sixth most by any quarterback in team history. Five players are tied at No. 1 with five touchdown passes in a game (Brian Sipe, Kelly Holcomb, Derek Anderson, Bill Nelsen and Frank Ryan).

The team revealed several other records that Mayfield has set:

"He has thrown for multiple touchdowns in each of his last five starts, the first Browns rookie to accomplish the feat and the first Brown to do so since Vinny Testaverde in 1994-95. Mayfield is the first Browns QB since Derek Anderson (2007) to throw for at least three touchdowns in consecutive games. Mayfield became the first Brown to pass for four touchdowns in a game since Brady Quinn on Nov. 22, 2009 at Detroit. Mayfield is the first Browns player to total at least seven touchdown passes and zero interceptions in consecutive NFL games. In just his eighth career start, Mayfield’s 17 passing touchdowns are the most by a Browns rookie and his 2,242 passing yards are fourth."

The No. 1 overall selection has completed 195-of-311 passes for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. Since Week 8, he has the second best passer rating in the league behind Drew Brees.
