Preview: Warriors finding their way, will end homestand against visiting Magic

Fresh off a 44-point explosion, Kevin Durant and company will end their four-game home stretch against a relatively soft Orlando Magic team, it looks like the squad is finding their footing finally. After untimely injuries and an ill-advised outburst knocked the team off the rails for a bit, we’ve got a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel.

We aren’t quite there just yet though - it looks like Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Alfonzo McKinnie are all out for at least one more game. But the team has

The Golden State Warriors stumbled just enough to get fans a little nervous - honestly nervous - for the first time in a long time. But that all looks to be in the past “like a ponytail” as Klay Thompson would say. After dropping four game in the largest losing streak of the Steve Kerr era, Golden State has popped off two consecutive wins: a devastating blowout of the Portland Trail Blazers, and then a squeaker of a win against a very game Sacramento Kings squad that took a wild last-second tip from Klay Thompson to put away.

It looks like the team is figuring out how to win (or at least play well enough to make it close) without a couple of key cogs in the machine. Although no updates are available at the time of writing, Draymond Green (toe) is listed as day-to-day, as is Alfonzo McKinnie (knee). But the real question is in regards to one Stephen Curry. The team has already ruled him out of this game, but we should see our beloved Threesus soon.

Keep an eye out for Curry on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. Plenty of time off in between games, a nationally televised contest, and one that just so happens to be in a town that is special to Curry.

When you hear about how the Warriors “ruined the league” my mind often drifts to the bottom tier of the Western Conference. Orlando is a team that wishes they could blame an external force for their struggles.

The team has the 24th ranked offense, the 17th ranked defense, and doesn’t seem to be headed anywhere significant right now. Though they hardly turn the ball over on offense, that’s about the only standout statistical feature for a team currently sits right at .500. .. good enough for the eighth seed in the East. If the Warriors focus their defensive intensity and make it tough, this should be another win for the Oracle faithful.

Prediction:

I’m on a roll lately! So let’s just stick with predicting a fun game and no injuries!
