The Boston Celtics are likely to be shorthanded when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
Forward Jaylen Brown suffered a lower back bruise late in Saturday's loss at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. Brown is currently being listed as doubtful against the Pelicans and it's likely that he won't suit up.

As you can see in the video from Saturday's game, Brown came down extremely hard when trying to alter a shot.
In addition to Brown, guard Terry Rozier is currently dealing with soreness in his left knee, but is currently being listed as probable. Rozier did play in Saturday's game, but struggled on the offensive end as he connected on just one of his six field goal attempts and finished with just 4 points in 17 minutes.
Brown has been very durable throughout the early portion of the regular season. The versatile forward only missed Boston's 117-113 win over the Milwaukee Bucks back on Nov. 1. Brown did have x-rays taken of his back, but those x-rays came back negative following Saturday's contest.
The former lottery pick hasn't been quite as dangerous as he was during the 2018-19 season. Brown is currently putting together averages of 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting just 39.8 percent from the field. The Celtics forward also is connecting on just 25.3 percent from beyond the arc after making significant strides in that department a season ago. During his second NBA campaign, Brown converted 39.5 percent of his three-point attempts and also shot 39.3 percent from three during the postseason.
