The Milwaukee Bucks rallied in the fourth quarter to prevail against the San Antonio Spurs, and avoid losing consecutive games for the first time this season.

The Milwaukee Bucks had a point to prove as they took to the court to face the San Antonio Spurs at Fiserv Forum on Saturday night.

With the frustration of the previous night’s unexpected loss to the cellar-dwelling Phoenix Suns very much still at the forefront of their minds, the Bucks were eager to resume normal service and maintain their run of avoiding consecutive losses.

When Gregg Popovich was forced to take his second timeout just over halfway through the first quarter, with his team staring down a 26-11 deficit already, it seemed as if the Bucks may even put this one way early in emphatic fashion.

Of course, that proved not to be the case. The savvy, competitive Spurs pushed the Bucks throughout, and behind a 34-point game from DeMar DeRozan, and standout contributions from Bryn Forbes and Davis Bertans, San Antonio actually looked set to pick up a valuable road win for much of the night.

With just over seven minutes remaining in the game, the Spurs even held a double-digit lead. In spite of their dominance in bench scoring, the performances of Milwaukee’s stars proved too much for the traveling Texans to handle.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was at his brilliant best, Eric Bledsoe wasn’t far behind him, and Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon provided their own reliable support to cap off the team’s effort.

It took a drastically different performance in the closing few minutes compared to what they’d done the night before, but the Bucks were able to come up with the goods and secure a win.

With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the more notable takeaways from Saturday’s win.
